Get Involved: Join an SDAR Committee

The San Diego Association of REALTORS® (SDAR) offers members the opportunity to actively participate in shaping the future of the real estate industry through service on various committees. Engaging in committee work allows members to contribute their expertise, collaborate with peers, and influence the direction of the association.

Benefits of Serving on a Committee:

Eligibility Requirements:

To serve on an SDAR committee, you must:

  • Be a REALTOR® or Affiliate member in good standing.

  • Be willing to actively participate and share your insights.

  • Meet any specific prerequisites outlined for the committee of interest.


How to Apply:

Interested members can apply by completing the Committee Application Form. Be sure to indicate all committees you are interested in joining.


Current SDAR Committees:

  • Budget & Assets Committee: Responsible for formulating and proposing the annual SDAR budget and dues, reviewing financial statements, and ensuring effective accounting procedures.

  • Bylaws Committee: Continuously reviews and updates SDAR bylaws to ensure compliance with legal standards and alignment with association policies.

  • (CRASD) Commercial Real Estate Alliance of San Diego: Serves as an advocate and information source for commercial real estate professionals, organizing events and promoting ethical business practices.

  • Government Affairs Committee: Represents SDAR members on public policy issues impacting real estate, providing recommendations to policymakers and advocating for the industry's interests.

  • The Grievance Committee: Reviews complaints seeking disciplinary action by C.A.R./NAR Professional Standards procedures. To qualify for this committee, you must have a minimum of 5 years as a licensed REALTOR®, no ethics violations, and be selected through an interview process.

  • Housing Opportunities Committee: The Housing Opportunities Committee actively works to create and promote homeownership opportunities while fostering strategic partnerships with community-based housing organizations.

  • International Real Estate Committee: Provides educational and networking opportunities, develops international business, and supports members' international real estate endeavors.

  • IT and Business Technology Committee: Conducts comprehensive reviews of the current and emerging technologies utilized by REALTORS® in their daily operations. By staying at the forefront of technology, this committee directly contributes to member retention and growth.

  • Marketing, Communications & Events Committee: The Marketing, Communications & Events Committee plays a key role in shaping the member experience and promoting the value of the association. This committee provides strategic input and feedback on SDAR’s marketing campaigns, communications initiatives, and member engagement strategies, including events. At SDAR Events, this Committee collaborates with all SDAR committees to orchestrate successful events and actively participates in the event planning, setup, teardown, while providing invaluable support during the event.

  • Mediation Committee: Contributes to the successful operation of the Real Estate Mediation Center, which specializes in resolving disputes arising during any stage of the real estate transactions. The Mediation Center’s ability to successfully facilitate dispute resolution contributes to elevating the public’s opinion of REALTORS® and helps maintain member satisfaction.

  • The Membership Committee focuses on understanding the overall value the Association delivers to its members. The committee tracks and measures the benefits delivered to members through all Association Committees to ensure that the Association is delivering the highest possible value and benefits to its members. By enhancing the value and benefits offered by the Association, this committee actively contributes to member retention and growth.

  • Professional Standards Committee: Upholds the Code of Ethics, conducts hearings on ethics complaints, and ensures professional conduct among members.

  • Risk Management Committee: Develops strategies and resources to help members manage risks and protect their businesses.

  • The REALTORS® Political Affairs Committee: Plays a vital role in member retention and growth by coordinating fundraising events, conducting political candidate interviews and endorsements, and cultivating advocates for organized real estate. These efforts protect and advance the interests of SDAR members at all levels of government.

  • Young Professionals Network (YPN) Committee: Engages and supports young real estate professionals through networking, education, and community involvement.
