SDAR Government Affairs

As the largest trade association in San Diego County, SDAR is one of the most influential voices shaping public policies impacting the region’s real estate industry. The Government Affairs Department manages SDAR’s robust advocacy programs established to protect and advance the interests of our members and their clients. We provide advice to local policy makers and key government staff, recommend association policy, lobby on behalf of the industry, and make recommendations of support for candidates who share our values.

We ask every REALTOR® member to support our efforts by taking the following steps:


Through our rigorous endorsement process, we recommend positions on ballot initiatives and support for candidates who share our commitment to preserving private property rights, protecting the business interests of our members, and helping more San Diegans realize the dream of homeownership.

Red Alerts and Calls-For-Action notify REALTORS® of critical legislation at the local, state, or federal levels of government that will directly affect REALTORS®. Take action when called upon to ensure the REALTOR® voice is heard!

Our REALTOR® PACs protect the interest of our members, their clients and the real estate industry. Members are challenged to make a minimum annual contribution to advance real estate interests at all levels of government.
