Resolving Disputes Without Losing Your Mind is a practical guide to navigating and resolving disputes that can arise during real estate transactions. Led by Jacqueline A. Oliver, Esq., an attorney, broker, and seasoned real estate professional with more than 40 years of hands-on experience, this session explores common disputes involving contract performance, inspections and repairs, financing, contingencies, cancellations, deposits, disclosures, commissions, and agent-client relationships.
Participants will review the dispute resolution provisions found in California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.) forms, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation options. The class will examine exceptions to mediation, considerations when signing arbitration provisions, and the potential time, cost, and outcomes associated with different resolution methods. Drawing on her extensive legal and real estate experience, Ms. Oliver will help REALTORS® better understand their options, evaluate potential paths forward, and make more informed decisions when disputes arise.
