Active Shooter Attack Prevention and Preparedness

Active Shooter Attack Prevention and Preparedness (ASAPP) is an interactive safety and preparedness training designed to provide REALTORS® with practical knowledge and skills to respond during an active shooter incident. Developed by the FBI Office of Partner Engagement’s Violence Reduction Unit, ASAPP combines lessons learned from active shooter incidents with multimedia instruction, demonstrations, and scenario-based exercises.

Participants will learn the “Run, Hide, Fight” response protocol and practice the decision-making skills needed to respond in a variety of environments. The course also covers techniques for controlling bleeding and assisting injured individuals until professional medical care is available. Through two interactive scenarios, attendees will have an opportunity to apply the principles presented in the course and reinforce potentially lifesaving skills.

Experienced FBI instructors conduct the training in a safe, controlled environment. No real or simulated firearms are used during the scenarios. The program is designed to provide practical preparedness training without creating fear or apprehension.
